Kevin Groark

Dr. Kevin Groark is a medical and psychological anthropologist working at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. Since 1991, he has worked with Tzotzil-speaking Maya Indians in highland Chiapas on issues related to household health, ethnopsychology, lay therapeutics, diagnosis, and curing. From 2005 to 2010, he served as a National Institutes of Health (NIH) research associate at USC, investigating clinical communication and management of chronic illness among low-income African American families managing chronic pediatric illness and/or disability.

In 2015, Dr. Groark completed a second PhD in Psychoanalytic Sciences, and integrates cultural psychodynamics into his research into the cultural determinants of biopsychosocial health and well-being.
