Andrea Rayas

Program Coordinator

“Health equity matters, so I love being part of a community that has the same passion to bridge the health disparities gap.”

Andrea Rayas is the Program Coordinator for the Smoke Free Multi-Unit Housing Initiative in Los Angeles County. She was born and raised in Southeast Los Angeles. It was there where she witnessed the ongoing health and environmental inequities in her community. Her experiences encouraged her to start volunteering at the young age of 12 years old at a nonprofit. Determined to rebuild a safer and healthier Southeast LA, she continued to volunteer and eventually intern at Proyecto Pastoral. She went on to college and attended the University of California, Riverside where she earned a bachelor’s in Public Policy. Her community’s fight against health disparities influenced her to concentrate on health and social policy.

In her free time, Andrea enjoys fitness, long walks and spending time with her family her golden retriever Canelo.
