“I believe that the best way to shape healthy and safe communities is to address problems before they begin through education and prevention programs.”
Dean Ambrosini is a Prevention Coordinator for the West Hollywood Project in the LA office. Dean joined IPS in March of 2020 as a Prevention Specialist and played a significant role in creating and implementing the Overdose Data to Action project in East and South Counties. In addition to working on the OD2A project, Dean has worked extensively with the East County Project in San Diego County to help advance IPS’s commitment to promoting healthier, safer communities in the East Region, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Prior to joining IPS, Dean spent several years in community organizing at a grassroots level. During the early days of the AIDS epidemic, he played a significant role in helping to develop prevention, education, and service programs that are still active today. More recently, Dean has helped organize outreach programs to provide recovery support to crystal meth addicts and provide alternatives to substance use in the San Diego LGBT community. Together with several community partners, Dean organized the first recovery-related venue at the San Diego LGBT Pride Festival.
