Assistant Program Manager

Maxwell Johnson is an Assistant Program Manager for the Binge and Underage Drinking Initiative. He oversees the Young Advocates internship program under BUDI, where he assists them in their personal and professional growth through multiple projects and activities related to alcohol misuse prevention. He also provides local and statewide policy analysis and works with regional providers to establish best practices for reducing alcohol-related harms in various communities.

Maxwell has a bachelor’s in Political Science and Communication from San Diego State University, where he was part of executive teams for a number of university and community-based service and advocacy groups. Maxwell is a member of the Young Leaders Advisory Council for California Forward, where he advocates on issues that affect the state’s youth population. In his free time, he enjoys reading, hiking, and going to the beach with friends.
