Saul Larios

Community Engagement Coordinator

“We have multiplied our possessions but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We’ve learned how to make a living but not a life. We’ve added years to life, not life to years.”

Saul is the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Smokefree Multi-Unit Housing (MUH) Initiative in Los Angeles County, helping to ensure that the children of Los Angeles can breathe cleaner air within their own homes. He was born in Los Angeles to Mexican Immigrants and was the youngest of five children. Saul’s father is from a small rural farming village in Michoacan, and his mother is from the city of Alcapulco. They taught him the meaning of hard work and not to let where you start in life be where you finish. He became the first member of his family to graduate from college when he graduated from the University of California Riverside at the top of his class in 2021. While at UCR, he was the Academic Coordinator for the Raincross Boxing Academy, a non-profit that provided free tutoring, mentorship, and training to the at-risk kids of Riverside.
