Eric Collins

Chief Programs Officer

“In life you’re either learning and growing or staying stagnant. I choose to expand my skills and share my knowledge with others so we can live happy, productive lives. Pay it forward.”

Eric Collins is the Vice President of programs for IPS where he provides leadership in the planning, development and implementation of projects that foster sustainable community change in the areas of public health and safety. He is responsible for staff development, training, quality assurance and supervision. He also collaborates with the Executive Team on development and grant funding.

He enjoys working with a wide variety of service providers, community leaders, and key stakeholders to establish and implement comprehensive systems reform with an emphasis on media advocacy, strategic planning, policy development and community organizing.

A former journalist, Mr. Collins has always been passionate about community-based advocacy and reporting on stories where authentic community organizing resulted in providing more resources to underserved communities. Covering a series of those stories in California led him to transition to a role working in public health via media advocacy. He received his bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California.
