Rethinking Access to Marijuana
IPS formed the Rethinking Access to Marijuana (RAM) Countywide workgroup in 2015 as a means to develop a strong coalition to protect youth in L.A. County from marijuana-related harms in the likelihood marijuana would be legalized for recreational use.
After the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA) was passed in 2016, RAM advocated for rigorous regulatory measures around outlet density, personal cultivation, and commercial cultivation at dozens of policy hearings and meetings with regulatory decision makers.
In the years since it was founded, RAM has grown to a network of 80+ member organizations from throughout Los Angeles County and continues to advocate for strong policy and enforcement standards in the emerging commercial marijuana landscape.
