Ashley Huggins
Project Support Specialist
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, we must invest in tomorrow’s wellness today.“
Ashley Huggins is the Project Support Specialist for the Trusted Messenger and Elevate Youth California programs. Her passion for prevention over treatment led her to graduate from SDSU in 2023 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health. Shortly after graduation, she was accepted to the MPH program at SDSU, where she is currently on track to graduate in 2025 with a Master’s in Public Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences.
Ashley’s previous roles as a Pharmacy Technician and Health Promotion Specialist allowed her to gain a nuanced understanding of the physical and social determinants of health that may be preventing individuals and communities from receiving the care they need. Additionally, her Latinx background, coupled with her ability to speak Spanish, has allowed her to connect with individuals who have difficulty expressing themselves in English. Her aim is to bridge the gap between underserved communities by offering resources and support to create accessible and healthy environments for all.
