Chloe Soribello
Community Engagement Coordinator
“I am forever held in awe at the compassion and leadership that centers the stark and honest humanity of the people. Growing up as a queer Filipino-American and daughter of immigrants, I have learned that there is no such thing as a single-issue struggle because we do not live single-issue lives. It is in my own heart that moving through the world with empathy and connectedness only breathes community care into our beloved spaces.”
Chloe Ann Soribello is the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Welfie Team. Having obtained her degree in Ethnic Studies at UC San Diego, as well as having involvement in community outreach and mentorship in marginalized communities, Chloe has a strong background in social justice work which allows her to center and uplift the individuals impacted by institutional barriers on an intersectional level. She has currently taken on various roles of peer mentoring and advocacy work in previous positions—such as the LGBT Resource Center and the Summer Bridge program at UCSD—as well as being an organizer and activist in San Diego. Her passion lies in cultivating community spaces that are centered on equity, inclusivity, and accessibility amongst youth. She has worked closely with marginalized youth populations with the intention to further empower and advocate for their own personal goals, dreams, and lives by fostering meaningful relationships that fuel accessibility and solidarity. Chloe enjoys writing poetry, reading, and film photography.
