Cynthia Brooks Nickerson joined the IPS staff as a Media Advocacy Specialist in 2018. Cynthia promotes the work of our Los Angeles County office by writing news releases, notifying media outlets and generally supporting the communications needs of the projects in various ways.

Cynthia brings two decades of television and radio journalism experience to IPS as well as experience in nonprofit communications and grant writing. She was raised in Los Angeles and earned a bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism from University of Southern California. She earned a master’s in Health Communications from Boston University and is working on a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership. When not working or studying, Cynthia enjoys spending time with family, sightseeing throughout Southern California, and playing with her 8-year old canine companion Coco.
