Gabriel Rojas

Prevention Specialist

“The work I do always starts with those around me. Without my experiences I wouldn’t be able to do what I love and help those who need it. Learning from our survival and applying that to our current fight will take us where we need to go.”

Gabey Rojas is the Prevention Specialist for the West Hollywood Project in Los Angeles County, which seeks to reduce substance use-related harms within the LGBTQ+ population. A San Diego native, Gabey moved to LA, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in International Development Studies and Communications from UCLA. There, his passion for community work cemented his future as an advocate and champion for the communities he loves.

Throughout his professional journey he has dedicated his life to helping populations that he has a personal connection to, including folks experiencing houselessness and those impacted by mass incarceration. He continues this mission within IPS assisting those experiencing issues with substance abuse. As someone who grew up around various substance users, the ability to educate and bring awareness to issues such as Tobacco is a pleasure for him. In his free time, Gabey enjoys hiking, spending time with friends and family, and traveling the world (as far as he can get)!
