Media Advocacy Specialist

Michael Pesavento is a Media Advocacy Specialist in the San Diego County office. He serves on the Binge and Underage Drinking Initiative that aims to reduce harms and responsibly regulate drug and alcohol usage in the San Diego area. He has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Redlands. Michael also earned a master’s degree in Communication Studies from San Diego State University in 2021. Michael is passionate about advocacy and believes positive change is possible through evidence-based policy and regulation. He prioritizes equity, responsibility and transparency in his efforts to create safer, healthier communities. When he is not advocating for a better San Diego, Michael can be found reading comics, playing with his dog and searching out great hiking and camping spots.
