Why I do what I do,

Morgan (she/her/hers) is the Youth and Community Organizer for San Diego’s East Region Substance Use Prevention Programs, where she facilitates the East County Youth Commission. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and is pursuing her Master of Public Health at San Diego State University. Morgan’s background in youth development comes from her previous work in after-school education and programming, serving schools across San Diego County.

Morgan is passionate about community building, fostering safe spaces for young people to grow and thrive, and ensuring equitable healthcare access to everyone. Currently, she serves as an intern for SDSU’s Institute for Public Health, in conjunction with UC San Diego’s Moores Cancer Center, facilitating community health needs assessments for San Diego’s LGBTQ+ community. In her free time, Morgan enjoys playing rugby, exploring San Diego, and spending time with her four nieces and nephews!
