Mia Mora

I am deeply inspired by the power of community and its collective compassion. My passion lies in uplifting communities and helping them realize their ability to create meaningful, positive change.
Mia Mora is the Prevention Specialist for the East Region of San Diego County. She holds a B.A. in Biology and Health, Medicine, and Society from the University of Redlands, and a MPH in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science from San Diego State University. During her studies, Mia deepened her understanding of the cultural, societal, and economic factors that influence public health outcomes through a study abroad program in Vietnam and independent research on economic vulnerability among female adolescents in Southern California.
Mia brings experience in public health, with knowledge in tobacco prevention, community advocacy, and health equity. She is committed to addressing the social determinants of health that contribute to disparities and is passionate about building healthier, more equitable communities. Through education, policy, and systems change, she works to empower individuals and communities as she believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive in environments that support their well-being.
Outside of work, Mia enjoys being in the sun, walking, and exploring new food and coffee spots in her neighborhood!
