Binge and Underage Drinking Initiative
The Binge and Underage Drinking Initiative (BUDI) addresses the harmful effects of underage and high-risk drinking by advocating for changes intended to reduce the over-consumption of alcohol in San Diego communities.
Using strategies that are proven to work, BUDI supports countywide alcohol harm prevention efforts by facilitating workgroups that are designed to address the contributors to alcohol-related problems in San Diego communities. These are generally related to the social availability of alcohol, retail availability of alcohol, and promotion or marketing of alcohol. Leadership for the BUDI is provided by the Alcohol Policy Panel of San Diego, a group of key stakeholders who act in an advisory capacity to change the overall environment in which alcohol-related problems occur.
