“I am deeply passionate about helping others, and now I have the chance to give back to the community that shaped me. I am committed to working relentlessly to advance equity and create opportunities for all.”

Paulyna Alamo serves as the South Bay Prevention Specialist for the Institute for Public Strategies South program. Growing up in South Bay, San Diego, she witnessed firsthand the need for equitable resources within her community.

Driven by a deep passion for community service and an awareness of the impact of local policies, Paulyna pursued a degree in Political Science, complemented by a minor in Business Administration, from the University of California, San Diego. While at UCSD, she interned at the Career Center, providing valuable resources to students navigating their post-graduation paths, and strengthened her marketing skills as a member of the Career Center’s Marketing and Communications team.

In her free time, Paulyna enjoys exploring new places in San Diego (especially coffee shops!), spending time with her loved ones, and spreading love to fur babies!
