San Bernardino County Renews Multi-Region Partnership with the Institute for Public Strategies to Advance Environmental Prevention
The Institute for Public Strategies (IPS) announced today it has been awarded a 4.5-year contract from the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health to continue delivering environmental prevention strategies and services across the High Desert, East Valley, and Central Valley regions.
The award extends IPS’s long-standing partnership with San Bernardino County, where the organization has worked for nearly two decades to prevent substance misuse by addressing the environmental and social conditions that contribute to SUD-related harms. IPS’s population-level approach focuses on improving community health and systems change through policy development, community partnerships, media advocacy, youth engagement, and sustainability.
“We are honored to continue this work with San Bernardino County,” said Brenda Simmons, Chief Executive Officer of IPS. “This partnership reinforces a shared commitment to prevention and to creating safe, supportive communities where residents can thrive.”
Through this renewed contract, IPS will collaborate with community members, youth, local governments, and regional partners to strengthen prevention strategies that reduce risk factors, expand protective conditions, and address alcohol- and drug-related harms at their root causes.
“This investment allows us to deepen our relationships across the Central Valley, East Valley, and High Desert,” said Eric Collins, Chief Programs Officer. “We remain committed to elevating community voices and supporting locally driven solutions.”
IPS works alongside communities to build power, challenge systems of inequity, protect health, and improve quality of life. IPS has a vision for safe, secure, vibrant, and healthy communities where everyone can thrive.
